Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up to V&P HOTEL & Restaurant on V. Petenka Street. This unique boutique hotel sits quietly in Khust, and from the outside, you’d never guess how thoughtfully designed it is inside. The building has this understated charm that grows on you — it’s not trying too hard, which I actually appreciate in a place like this.

You know what’s great about staying here? Khust isn’t one of those tourist-packed cities, so you get a real sense of what life is like in western Ukraine. The hotel sits in a residential area where locals go about their daily routines, and there’s something refreshing about that authenticity. Walking around the neighborhood, you’ll find small shops and cafes that cater to residents, not tourists — which means better prices and genuine interactions.

The Room Experience

My room was surprisingly well-appointed for a boutique property without an official star rating. The design feels contemporary but warm, with local touches that remind you where you are without being heavy-handed about it. The bathroom was spotless, and I mean spotless — sometimes that’s all you really need to know about a place. What struck me most was the attention to small details: good lighting for reading, enough outlets near the bed, and blackout curtains that actually work.

The on-site restaurant turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises you don’t always get with hotel dining. They serve a mix of Ukrainian classics and European dishes, and honestly, the quality rivals what you’d find at standalone restaurants in much larger cities.
