The name translates roughly to “Forest Hut” and that’s exactly what you get — though calling it just a hut really undersells the place. This three-star property sits right where the Carpathian foothills begin to rise, surrounded by dense woodland that feels worlds away from any city noise.

Location & Setting

Soymy isn’t exactly a household name, and that’s sort of the point. You’re about 40 minutes from Uzhhorod if you need proper civilization, but honestly, once you settle in here, you won’t want to leave. The surrounding forest comes right up to the property — I mean, you can literally step out your door and be on hiking trails within minutes. There’s something magical about waking up to birdsong instead of traffic, you know?

The Accommodation

My room was cozy in that authentic mountain lodge way, with timber walls and windows that actually open to let in the forest air. The furniture feels handcrafted rather than mass-produced, and while it’s not going to win any design awards, it’s comfortable and clean. What impressed me most was how quiet everything gets at night — the kind of silence city folks forget exists.

Dining & Amenities

The on-site restaurant serves traditional Ukrainian mountain cuisine, and I have to say, after a day of hiking, their hearty stews and fresh bread hit differently. The portions are generous — actually, almost comically so — and the ingredients taste like they come from nearby farms. There’s also decent parking right on the property, which matters more than you’d think when you’re hauling hiking gear around.
